Formal court approval of a bankruptcy plan, with the result that the plan becomes binding on creditors and other parties affected by the plan. “Confirmation” is a glorious term to the reorganizing debtor if it is the debtor’s plan being confirmed and a less than glorious term if the plan being confirmed is a completing plan or a liquidating plan.
